Gullah Gourmets story

Having grown up in Charleston, Debbie Nelson really appreciated the low country. Whether it was the laid back southern atmosphere or the smell of the salt air or the wonderful recipes that were handed down from generation to generation. Her childhood experiences inspired her to start Gullah Gourmet to share the wonderful recipes she grew up with.

In 1994 Gullah Gourmet started with 4 products and now in 2003 they have developed 30 food products as well as a line of aprons, T-shirts, and kitchen towels. They have been featured on national TV several times by the Food Network on their Food Finds segment, and also in Bellsouth Promotions, on Taste of Life Television, Coastal Living Magazine, & many other publications. They have also won numerous ribbons at the Los Angeles and Atlanta Food Shows for packaging, taste, and best visual display.

Debbie attributes the success of Gullah Gourmet, Inc. to her dedicated staff, her wonderfully supportive family and friends, her faithful customers, and to God for answering prayers and opening so many doors.

Gullah Gourmet offers a wide verity of products such as:

One of my favorite dishes offered by Gullah Gourmet are the chocolate brownies, fast and easy to make. A wonderful dessert for the whole family without the mess or hassle. Just add water and bake for a few minutes and you have an instant dessert.

 

 

 

 

 

Gullah Gourmets Banana Nut Bread is another one of my favorites in which you only have to add water and bake. For instant bread this is surprisingly good.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Gullah Gourmet also offers a verity of cobblers. Cherry as you may have guess is my favorite. Again add a can of Cherries, a little milk and bake and you have a pan of cherry cobbler for the whole family.
